I made pancakes for breakfast this morning. I don’t make them often, only a couple of times a month. However, as I sat there slathering peanut butter onto my pancake, I wondered what other people might enjoy on their pancakes.

I did mention that I put peanut butter on mine. Peanut butter on pancakes has been a tradition in my family for as far back as I can remember. My dad got me started, and his dad got him started. I’m not sure where it really began, but it is good.

I have never heard of someone putting peanut butter on their pancakes, it does sound really good though! I prefer either a little bit of butter with maple syrup or a little bit of butter with some sugar on top of them! I might have to try out putting peanut butter on mine sometime!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a Girl Scout, I went to camp every year. When they offered pancakes for breakfast one morning I asked for peanut butter. Many of the other girls had to try it as well. The peanut butter was a hit and from that day forward peanut butter was always available on the tables when they served pancakes.
DeleteI've never heard of anyone else putting peanutbutter on their pancakes. I go with a little butter, peanutbutter, and a sprinkle of sugar. I finally got up the courage to use the stuffed pancake pan I got for Christmas this year. It makes little pancake balls with a tsp of filling. I went with ham and cheese for the first attempt. Thinking pb & j next time.

btw, I'm glad to see you mixing this up. I was going to suggest a post on Paula Deene's announcement about her diabetes and all of the angry responses about her high fat cooking killing America.

Actually my dad loves peanut butter on his pancakes, which I thought was weird. But now I'm thinking about trying it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is chocolate chip pancakes with a little bit of whipped cream on the side. :) With butter and syrup too of course! Now I'm hungry.
